I have one - it's a review model the company sent me for a Website I write for. So far I'd say it's so-so. The sound is decent, but when we record the same stuff through my friend's Digi002 setup, the difference in quality is noticeable. The Phonic is noisier and not as warm sounding. The firewire out works right out of the box with my Mac, no drivers needed, and provides 16 ins and 2 outs as advertised. Wo rahne wali mahlo ki tv serial song download. I'm having some issues once I try to record more than 4 or 5 channels at once, though. Not yet sure if it's the board or my computer setup.

The digging I've done so far indicates that it might be the board, because I'm getting some weird device change messages in the logs of my DAW software, but I'm not sure yet. I recorded a whole cd with the on board sound card and got so.so results and then bought this Helix 18. I sat down with my singer last night and layed down tracks for piano and guitar and vocals, and I was amazed. Tailor my amazement with what I came from. I like the ability to use it as a stand alone mixer, the digital effects are a little harsh, but I route them through the sub buss and bring them back around on one of the channels and mix them with the main vocal track in my software, by recording two channels at once.

So I can control the depth of the effect. It gave a nice result. What I am having trouble figuring out is how to get the proper level on firewire, it looks like you just crank the gain control for the channel, while monitoring with headphones so that you don't add a large amount of hiss from too high of a gain setting. If I read the book that might help too. I was looking at the price of the Alesis board and this board, and this one was about $50 cheaper, with what I perceived were more features. Am I screaming with joy.well.no.but I am pretty darn happy with it, and as i gain more experience that may change too.

Setup was a breeze.cubase appears to suck, I use a program called Magix audio studio and it is a breeze to use, plus it's cheap, which are my two main criteria. I have had this unit for abou 45 days! I have had nothing but problems with it. Using this unit on a pc one day it would work fine the next the pc would not see it as a sound card or sonar would not see the phonic!

Tech support said there was nothing wrong with there drivers & had not heard of any such problems! & then magic 3 weeks later when I was talking to them they have major driver issues with pc not mack! New drivers were do to come out Last week but I have not seen them yet.

So I sent the phonic back monday. I am now looking for a differant option!

Sorry to vent but I do feel better now! Thanks cudaaa. I've started having trouble with mine, using it with my Mac. Seems like the firewire jacks on the mixer are VERY shaky. I've had two recording sessions bail out in the middle of various tracks, and looking at the system logs, the computer kept 'detecting new audio device' over and over.

Literally 100 or so times in a 2 hour session. So I did some testing and both firewire jacks on the mixer are very susceptible to the cable comnig loose, resulting in the board disappearing from the computer's system bus or -- worse yet -- nasty digital distortion in the recording with no warning that anything's wrong. Testing at home today I had no problems, great signal, etc. What I'm worried about is going back into the studio and having even the vibrations of the drums and amps jiggle the firewire cable loose enough to cause problems.

Thanks cudaaa Hello All, I think it fair to let you all know up front I am with Phoinc.

I work in the R&D, and any drivers that come out from Phonic will be released by myself. We released a new version a while back to support the 64 bit implementation of ASIO for use on Windows XP 64 bit addition for both Intel and AMD chips.
